Chris Siddall has lived in the Halstead Division for more than 35 years with his wife and two children. He is the Managing Director of his own 45 year old company Eastern Plastics Machinery Ltd based in Earls Colne. His work involves helping plastic moulding companies develop better manufacturing systems that minimise waste, reduce the use of plastics, save energy and improve recycling. Chris is a specialist in JIT (Just In Time manufacturing) he has worked extensively throughout the UK but also all over the world with companies such as Johnston & Johnson, Gillette, Plessey to name a few.
He was Chairman of Governors at the ‘Earls Colne Primary School and Nursery’ for five years, is a trustee on the ‘Halstead Educational Trust’, helping give young people the opportunity to excel in education and life.
Chris served as a Braintree District Councillor for The Colnes, first elected in 2008, during his time at Braintree District Council he held various positions: Cabinet Member for Performance and Efficiency, Cabinet Member for Prosperity and Growth and Deputy Leader.
Over the years he has worked hard for the local area and served on various organisations as a non-remunerated director, ‘Ignite Business’ a business development company in Braintree helping start-up companies become established and existing companies grow, ‘The Warner Archive’ and the ‘Braintree Museum’ helping to preserve the historical heritage of our area.
