Conservative led Essex County Council is forming partnerships and investing in valuable support to help the women’s business community in the county bounce back from the pandemic.
With more initiatives focused on women to follow, Essex County Council is proud to have already invested in two entrepreneurial programs, which are free to attend. The first partnership is with We Are Radikl, an organisation focused on supporting women in business. “How to start your start up” is one course they offer and is aimed at aspiring businesswomen, who aren’t sure how to get started. During the six-week course, attendees can discover the building blocks to help get their own business off the ground, from the comfort of their own home. The programme also includes a one year “Engage” community membership, weekly one-to-one hotseats, monthly bootcamps and access to a network of likeminded women. ECC’s second programme is run by Essex University- Angels@Essex, an invitation only platform, that links investors and entrepreneurs. Within Angels@Essex is The Female Founders and Investors Forum, which is a network that helps female-led tech businesses to find the right investors. This initiative will offer support that addresses the specific needs, challenges and goals of female founders and investors. The first event will run on September 17th.
Councillor Lesley Wagland, Cabinet Member for Economic Renewal, Infrastructure and Planning at Essex County Council, commented: “ECC is proud to partner with We Are Radikl and Angels@Essex to help support female-led entrepreneurship. With equality one of the key themes of the new administration, I am determined to promote opportunities for the businesswomen of the future.”
